MIDDLEBORO Joan Louise (Fielding) Parris of Middleboro, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away at the age of 71 after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by her family on September 5, 2008. Loving wife of 51 years of Robert A. Parris Sr.; devoted mother of Kathleen L. Wood and her husband James of Bridgewater, Robert A. Parris Jr. and his wife Sandra of Dighton, John E. Parris and his wife Monica of Berkley, Patricia A. Thompson and her husband Mark of Bridgewater, Lisa M. Rogers and her husband Paul of Upton, Mark A. Parris and his wife Diane of Bridgewater and Michael S. Parris of Berkley; and proud Nana of many beautiful grandchildren. Sister of Jayne Murphy, B. Patricia Holden, John Fielding and the late Barbara Rice. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, from 3-7 p.m., followed by a brief funeral service immediately following for those who would like to attend. Burial will be private. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday in the Church of Our Savior, Episcopal, 60 Union St. Middleboro at 12 p.m., followed by a luncheon in celebration of Joan's life at the Oak Point Club House at 1:30 p.m. Joan was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, dedicated grandmother and friend to many.
