MCELROY, JEAN ELIZABETH Of Woodstock, wife of the late Douglas Everett McElroy, passed away at the home of her daughter on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the age of 85. Born at Plaster Rock, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Ward. Jean is survived by a son, John D. McElroy (Lona) of Newbridge; two daughters, Mary Rockwell (Larry) of Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia, and Anne Merrithew (Stanley) of Fredericton; three brothers, Alex Ward of Parksville, BC, Lawrence Ward, and George Ward, both of Plaster Rock; four sisters, Grace Coughlan of Halifax, Ruth Fulton of Plaster Rock, Doreen Knowles of Aroostook, and Linda Briggs of Northview; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two special daughters, Jean Clampett of London, Ontario, and Louise Smart of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was predeceased by a sister, Dolly Milton, and a brother, Douglas Ward. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Snyder will officiate, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
