Janis (Rydingsward) Moore-Williams, 61, of Plainville, died with her family by her side Dec. 12, 2008, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael Williams. She was born April 30, 1947, in New Britain, one of two children to Katherine (Neils) Rydingsward, of Plainville, and the late Milton Rydingsward. A lifelong resident of Plainville, she was a 1965 graduate of Plainville High School. She went on to continue her education at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, earning her master's degree in education. She later attended Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, obtaining a second master's degree in reading education. She shared her knowledge with countless individuals as a devoted reading teacher for over 35 years at various schools throughout the state, before retiring in 2007. Teaching others to read was a one of her greatest passions. In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Michelle Moore and her husband, Jim Susco, of Plainville, Michaela Moore, of Plainville, Michael Moore Jr. and his fiance, Kendra Kirby, of Southington, and Collin and Jon Williams, of Plainville; her four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tessa Susco, and Michael and Jacob Moore; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held privately.
