<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Feb. 25, 1939-Jan. 8, 2015 Born Feb. 25, 1939, he made his transition to eternal life on Jan. 8, 2015. He was the first born of eight children, from the union of Mr. Willie and Mrs. Maggie Davis. Mr. Davis began his formal education through the Birmingham School System at Patterson Elementary and A.H. Parker High School class of 1958. To further his thirst for knowledge he attended Knoxville College and later transferred to Miles College, while completing his education James was drafted into the United States Army. He received an Honorable discharge. James was retired from Pemco Aeroplex formerly (Hayes Aircraft) with over forty years of service. He loved Alabama football. Precious memories will be cherished by his sisters: Ms. Carol J. Davis, Mrs. Linda Davis Lawson, Ms. Sandra K. McDowell and Mrs. Lewanna Davis Robinson (Arthur J.); His mother-in-law, Mrs. Ida Gertrude McNeill; his extended family by marriage to Mrs. Sharon P. Davis (now deceased); Mrs. Karen Graham (Larry); Ms. Donna McNeill; Ms. Loretta Patterson; Ms. Vastina Patterson; and Mrs. Audrey McKinney; uncle, Mr. Clearence Blalock; Aunts, Mrs. Katherine Hollingsworth, Mrs. Carrie M. Tucker and Mrs. Mary Crawford. Funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held at Noon, Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 from the Eastside Funeral Home. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Eastside Funeral Home, directing.
