James T. "Curley" Killen, age 81, passed away March 10, 2007.He was born in 1926 in Lexington, Ala., where he was a star basketball player for Lexington High School.He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Dudley Killen, and brother-in-law, Herman E. Littrell.He is survived by his sister, Frances Ann Littrell; nephews, Kim Littrell (Rene), Atlanta, Ga., and Kirk Littrell, Nashville, Tenn.; niece, Sondra Haygood (A.L.), Florence; great-nephews, Taylor and Jackson Littrell, Atlanta; great-nieces, Jill Farris and Kristi Shollenberger (Brian), Florence.Curley's strength and courage allowed him to persevere through many physical ailments during his life. He was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed by his friends and family.Visitation will be at Elkins East Chapel from noon-2 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2007. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Brother Alvin Burbank officiating.Pallbearers will be A.L. Haygood, Clinton Killen, Danny Knight, Morris H. Williams, Kim Littrell, Taylor Littrell, Jackson Littrell and Kirk Littrell. Honorary pallbearers are Wes Porter, W.R. Clark and Johnny Johnston.Interment will be in Pettus Cemetery in Lexington.
