DAVIS JAMES RICHARD, 81, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. Born in Sweeden, KY, James was the retired president of Better Quality Lumber in Clarksville. His memberships include the Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church, 50-year-member of Falls Lodge #749 F&AM, and Blazing Bright Chapter #597 OES. James was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert M. and Bethel Potter Davis; and wife, Mildred Lindsey Davis. He is survived by a daughter, Bettye Jane Craig, of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Jamie Craig (Amanda) of Clarksville,and Lindsey J. Howlett (Joe) of Clarksville; three great-grandchildren, Aidan Craig, Logan Craig and Jonathan Davis Howlett; and two sisters, June Murphy, of Lebanon, KY and Norma Jane Harvey, of Clarksville. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. EST Tuesday, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarksville, and 10 a.m. CST Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home Chapel Brownsville, KY until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. CST. Burial is in Sweeden Cemetery. Masonic service by Falls Lodge #749 F&AM will be held at 7 p.m. EST, Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home.
