->MacKenzie, James L.Winchester, VA: James "Jim" MacKenzie, farmer and agricultural consultant, died suddenly October 15, 2012 at his home in Winchester, VA. Mr. MacKenzie was born in Batavia NY and brought up in nearby LeRoy. He farmed for many years and was very active in LeRoy civic affairs, especially the JayCees. Mr. MacKenzie initiated and helped to found the LeRoy Ambulance Corps which continues to serve that community today.Survived by his beloved wife, Marti MacKenzie; daughter, Kristin MacKenzie Orr of Centreville VA; son, Noel of Salem OH; step-daughter, Laura Pritchett of Baltimore MD; seven grandchildren; brother, George MacKenzie of Webster NY; four sisters, Ann MacKenzie of Ephrata WA, Joan Marshall of Godfrey IL, Marlene Wynne of Arden NC, and Jeanne MacKenzie of Falls Church VA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.The family will receive friends on Sat., Oct. 20 from 3-5 pm at the Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel and a memorial service will be held at the same location Sun., Oct. 21.
