KILLEEN, James, 90, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Friday, August 21, 2009. He was born in Natick, Mass., and moved to Sebring in 1984, retiring after 45 years with Dennison Manufacturing Co. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a longtime member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, formerly known as SPEBSQSA. He sang in several quartets over the years. He was also an avid member of the Highlands Radio Control Club. He belonged to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bette; daughters, Karen Rocci and husband, John, of Yellville, Ark., and Kathryn Killeen of Tampa; and many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, John, William and Frank, as well as his parents, preceded him in death. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., after cremation by the National Cremation Society. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Barbershop Harmony Foundation, 110 Seventh Ave. N., Nashville, TN 37205.
