Home-going services for James Edward (Eddie) Davis will be today (Saturday, December 9, 2006), at 11 a.m., at Historic New Bethel AME Church, 115 S. Yonge St., Ormond Beach, Fla. Viewing will be today (Saturday) from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Davis was born July 2, 1946, in Ormond Beach to Johnny B. and Oretha Davis. He attended Rigby Elementary School in Ormond Beach, and Campbell Senior High in Daytona Beach. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Davis received three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for heroism and valor. A faithful member of the Historic New Bethel AME Church in Ormond Beach, he served as a trustee, a member of the T.P. Duhart Choir, the Men's Choir, and the Sons of Allen. He was also driver of the church van for church school. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Frances Davis; daughter, Annette Eberheart, Ormond Beach; three brothers, Johnny B. Davis (Betty), Ronald Davis (Evangelyn), Ormond Beach, Leonard Davis (Bertha), DeLand, five sisters, Audrey Hines, Daytona Beach, Alfreda Lewis (Fred), Connie Davis, Holly Hill, Bonnie Durias (Ricky), Deltona, Cathy Butts (George), Palm Coast; sisters/cousins, Teresa Leverette (Otha), Pensacola, Rosalind Kitt (Roland), Jacksonville, Loretta Shropshire, Daytona Beach, Delores Sampson, Fort Lauderdale; three grandchildren, Treasure, Faith and Hope Eberheart; goddaughters, Ebony Butts, Kaiya Woodard, Arlene and Darlene Martin; godson, Steven Fulbright; aunt, Ernestine Tillman; sisters-in-law, Ardale Smith, Daytona Beach, Angela Fulepi (Conrad), Richmond, Va.; brother-in-law, Dale Conegia (Sondra), Holly Hill; "Big Brother," Johnnie Freeman; devoted cousins, James and Jerome Turner; and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
