Mr. James Arthur "Jimmy" Strickland, 64, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at a local hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam Conflict, where he received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) and Vietnam Service Medal. He was Baptist by faith. He is survived by two daughters, Angela Lynn Teuton and husband, Jeff, of Belle Chase, La., and Sandra Marie Saint of Panama City; one son, Bill Strickland and wife, Leigh Anne, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; seven grandchildren, James Saint, Triston Saint, Joshua Saint, Nathan Saint, Rose Marie Teuton, Cole Strickland and Hayley Saint; five sisters, Martha Locke and husband, Billy, of Panama City, Betty Anderson and husband, Willard, of Lynn Haven, Tiny Ellis of Marianna, Fla., Laura Hoskins and companion, David Pippin, of Panama City and Faye Heath and husband, Dick, of New Hampshire; one brother, George Strickland of Panama City; special friend, Chris Dominguez of Panama City; mother-in-law, Hilma Underwood; cousin, Jerry Strickland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Marie Strickland. Funeral services with military rites provided by the Fort Rucker Honor Guard will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at the Heritage Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Don Hodges officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Patrick Hoskins, Larry Hoskins, Jeff Teuton, Steve Pointer, James Saint and Triston Saint.
