Obituary of Josephine Frost


Josephine Frost, age 89, of Springfield, VA, formerly a longtime Peekskill area resident, died on Thursday, June 12, 2003 in Virginia. Born in County Claire, Ireland, on June 2, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Susan (Scanlon) Casey. Mrs. Frost was a homemaker who had lived in Virginia since 1990 and had lived in the Peekskill area from 1944 to 1990. She was a former parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, Peekskill, NY, and had also been a member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians and of the Catholic Daughters of America in Peekskill. Mrs. Frost was predeceased by her husband, Walter R. Frost; he died in 1962. She is survived by one son, Walter G. Frost of Sierra Vista, AZ; by one daughter, Susan Withee of Springfield, VA; three brothers: Peter Casey of Hamden, CT, Patrick Casey and Timothy Casey of Nottinham, England; three sisters: Ellen Cox, Ann Phipps of Nottingham, England and Margaret Casey of Co. Claire, Ireland. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 11:30 AM at Assumption Church in Peekskill. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Friends may call at the CLINTON FUNERAL HOME, 728-30 North Division St., Peekskill, NY, Friday from 9-11:15 AM.
