IRA LEE SMITHJANUARY 12, 2013Ira Lee Smith went peacefully to meet our Lord on January 12, 2013. Faithful father and husband. He was born in Ft. Myers, Florida on August 22, 1929 to Rufus and Molly Smith. He is preceded in death by both parents Rufus Smith & Molly (Delacey) Smith; also 3 siblings Viola Tucker, Lawrence Smith and Graham Smith. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dolores Smith; 3 sons Bryan (Chip) Smith, Mike Smith, Greg & Glenda Smith. He had 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ira worked in the wholesale electrical business for over 30 years and never met a stranger. Ira was a Deacon at Estero First Baptist Church for many years; serving his Lord and his family were his main goals in life. As a husband and father he was the Ultimate example. He served his country with pride overseas during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army but seldom spoke of it.Funeral service will be conducted at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Rd 82, Ft. Myers, FL 33913 on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
