Retired Veterans Benefits Counselor AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at University Hospital, Mrs. Helen M. Williams, 77, wife of the late Raymond Lee Williams. Mrs. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was retired from the Veterans Hospital as a Veterans Benefits Counselor and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law: Mary E. and Julian Smith of Augusta, Miriam W. and William O'Brien of McBean; son and daughter-in-law: Raymond L. and Nancy Williams of Martinez; sisters: Catherine McKeown Braid and Dorothy McKeown Wallace, both of Augusta; grandchildren: Melissa McCook, Eric O'Brien, Clint O'Brien, Amy Miranda, Nick Williams and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her son: Michael A. Williams. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Greg Bentley officiating. Pallbearers will be Clayton Williams, Ben Williams, Earl Williams and Buddy Braid. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
