Obituary of Helen-Higdon Fey


FEY, HELEN HIGDON, 82, was reunited in heaven with her husband, Samuel George Fey, on Monday, October 5, 2009. She was born in Grayson county the daughter of John and Mamie Hidgon. Her passion was caring for her flower and rock gardens. She was a wonderful cook and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic church. She had five brothers and sisters whom all have gone to rest before her: Edward, Groman and Arthur Higdon and Roberta Pierce and Ressa Runner. She is survived by her loving children, Samuel Steven Fey (Margaret) and granddaughter, Stevi Nicole, of Leitchfield, KY; daughters, Judy Wachtel (David) and Lisa Kleber (Greg) and granddaughter, Samantha. She is also survived by her grandsons, Nathan Wachtel (Brooke) and Jeffrey Wachtel (Michele), of Lexington, KY; her lifelong friend, Margaret Miller Diersing; many nieces, nephews and friends; and her little dog, Princess. During her life she nurtured many family and friends will be sadly missed. The funeral will be noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and noon-9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Expressions to Mass of the Air and St. Vincent dePaul Society.
