Helen was the daughter of Delbert and Edna Jones Nowers and was born December 4, 1922 in Beaver, Utah. Helen moved several times while growing up. She lived in California, Utah, Nevada, and then back to Utah. After graduating from high school in Winnemucca, Helen moved to Beaver, Utah where she worked in the Sweet Shop. During this time Helen started dating Neal Davis. Approximately one year later on May 2, 1942, they were married in Pioche, Nevada, where Helen's mother was living. Neal served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years after being drafted. Helen was able to live in California with him and she also spent some time living in Beaver, Utah and Pioche, Nevada. They had two daughters and four sons. The very first home Neal and Helen bought was located in Minersville, Utah. They only had hot water available when the wood burning cook stove was in use and had to use an outhouse located out beside the large apricot tree. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Helen enjoyed knitting, crocheting, spending time outdoors, cooking, and gardening (flowers). Helen has worked in an immunization clinic for Dr. Davies annually and was also a senior citizen food distributor.She is survived by her children Richard Davis (Renee) of Milford, UT; Clark Davis (Konnie) of Beaver, UT; Bruce Davis (Janet) of West Valley, UT; Jacquelin Paas (Norbert) of Napaville, IL; Bryant "Cougar" Davis (Nina) of Minersville, UT; and 26 grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Neal Davis, daughter Glenna Blake, and great granddaughter Myranda Bradshaw. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 3:30 pm at the Minersville Cemetery in Minersville, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 from 6-8:00 pm at the Minersville LDS Church (130 W Main Street ) and again on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 2:30-3:00 pm at the Minersville Senior Center (245 S Main Street) in Minersville, Utah, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
