Harry W. Doughertyof BinghamtonHarry W. Dougherty, 85, of Binghamton, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003. He was predeceased by his late wife, Dorothy; his parents; and a brother, Pete. He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmina (Knauf) Dougherty; a daughter, Betty Hughes, Binghamton; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Elizabeth Dougherty, Romulus; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several stepchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Williams, Hammond, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of the Binghamton Psychiatric Center with 43 years of service. Besides being an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, he loved to hunt and fish.A memorial service will be held Friday at 12 noon at Fairview United Methodist Church, corner of Robinson and Bigelow Sts., Binghamton, with Rev. Paul Towers officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Arrangements are with the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, 252 Robinson St., Binghamton, N.Y. 3904, or the Dialysis Program at United Health Services, Mitchell Ave., Binghamton, N.Y. 13903.
