Obituary of Grace-Elder Odom


Grace Elder Odom Grace Elder Odom, 81, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, in Tallahassee. A service will be held Friday, October 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. EDT at The Episcopal Church of the Advent (815 Piedmont Drive). The Family will greet friends at the church directly following the service. Grace was born in Biloxi, Miss.She moved to Tallahassee in 1962. She was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent where she sang in the Choir for 30 years. Grace was a graduate of the University of Florida and was a past president of the Leon County Gator Club. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames.She enjoyed genealogy, singing, cooking, tailgating at UF football games, and most of all her family. Grace is survived by her five children, Ted Odom (Debra), of Boulder, Colo., Doug Odom (Alice), of Winston Salem, N.C., Leigh Graham (Randy), Mark Odom and Beth Odom, of Tallahassee; a brother, Randall C. Elder, of Tampa; a sister, Margaret Elder, of Houston; and her eight grandchildren, Taylor and Jamey Graham, Trevor, Tessa, Jessica, Lindsay and Olivia Odom and Grace Pickron.She was predeceased by her husband, Edward L. Odom, and her parents, Randall F. and Margaret Cole Elder. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Advent or Big Bend Hospice.
