->Owen, Gloria LillianNewfield: Gloria Lillian Owen, 87, Newfield, died Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Elderwood in Waverly, NY. She was born on Staten Island, NY, February 5, 1925, the daughter of Andrew Olaf Johnson and Augusta Bernadina Johnson. She was predeceased by husband, Albert R. Owen, and six brothers. Gloria is survived by five sisters, Catherine McKee, Van Etten, Hazel Schulte, Newfield, Susan Sanderson, Candor, Mary Bortkowski, and Ruth Altenhoff, both of Panama City, FL; nieces and nephews. Gloria had worked in the kitchen at the Biggs Sanitarium and later as a housekeeper at Cornell University. She loved animals and donated to the SPCA. There will be no calling hours nor service. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Spencer, NY. Memorials may be directed to SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
