Gérard Lirette 1920 - 2004 GRAND-BARACHOIS - Gérard Lirette, 83, of Résidence O'Bon Soins, Shediac and formerly of Grand- Barachois passed away on Friday, January 9, 2004 at the residence. Born in Dupuis Corner, March 9, 1920, her was the son of the late Benoit Lirette and the late Basilice Doiron. He was a retired fisherman, mason, carpenter and a past employee at Paturel's. He was on the advisory board for the Construction of the Violette Léger Apartments in Barachois, a past member of the Barachois Parish Committee, a founding member of La Caisse Populaire de Barachois and a past member of the Golden Age Club in Barachois. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters; Patsy LeBlanc (Arthur) of Halifax, N.S., Emma Landry (Jean-Guy) of Grand-Barachois, Hèléna Thériault (Roger) of Campbellton, Anise Lirette (Henry Price) of Shediac; sons, Eloi (Denise) and Léopold (Denise) all of Grand-Barachois, Robert (Judy) of Halifax, NS; sisters, Elodie Pellerin (Roy) of Moncton, Odilia Léger (Nazaire) of Shediac, 14 grandchildren; Pierre, André, Robert, Marc, Nicole, Mathieu, Denis, Paula, Yves, Gaston, Julie, Martin, Chelsey, Justin; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Monika, Jacob Alexander, Amélie; and a brother-in-law Benoit Léger of Grand-Barachois. He was predeceased by his wife Thèrése (Pitre) Lirette (2000); one brother Eloi Lirette; and two sisters, infant Elodie Lirette, Anna Léger. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 10 am until time of departure at 10:40 am. The funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 12, 2004 at St. Henri Roman Catholic Church in Grand- Barachois. Internment in the parish cemetery.
