->George E. Williams of Weymouth, died January 1, 2015. George was born and raised in Ohio and had lived in Weymouth for 47 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. Over the years, George worked for General Dynamics, Marr Scaffolding and as a power equipment manager. George was a skilled archer and instructor, achieving 7 archery medals in the Senior Olympics. He was a member of the Massachusetts Field Archery Association, Marshfield Rod and Gun Club, Lunenberg Sportsman Club, Weymouth Sportsman Club and the Weymouth Park Department. Beloved husband of 54 years to the late Mary G. (Gherardi) Williams, he was the devoted father of Monica Klaver and her husband Daniel of Fla., and George E. Williams II and his wife Maureen of Duxbury; cherished Grampy of Nicholas, George E. III and Delaney; loving brother of Alfred Williams of Miss. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday, Jan. 8, 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), South Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of George may be made to the Marshfield Rod and Gun Club, P.O. Box 831, 300 School Street, Marshfield, MA 02050.
