Grace Elizabeth Higgins, 80, a resident in the Peekskill area for over 50 years, died Sunday, September 17, 2006. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Durham, NC to Douglas and Sue Ida (nee Allen) Holder. Grace was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Higgins October 1997, and her daughter Barbara McKenzie April 1996. Grace is survived by her three grandchildren: Eric (Vivian) McKenzie, Michael (Katherine) McKenzie, and Angela McKenzie, a son-in-law Roy McKenzie, two sisters-in-law, Mary Holder and Lillian Jones, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The Family will receive friends at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 648 Harrison Ave., Peekskill, NY, on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, from 9 to 11 am, when Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery.
