February 28, 2009 Frederick Chase, 87, of East Syracuse, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Manlius, NY, he lived in East Syracuse for 60 years. He retired from Onondaga Beverage Co. after 15 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He owned and operated Kinne Street Grocery (Lotito's) in East Syracuse for 25 years before going to work at Onondaga Beverage. He was a founder and the first president of East Syracuse-Minoa Booster Club. He used to love to bowl, golf, hunt and fish. They had a summer residence at Brennan's Beach in Pulaski, NY, for the past 25 years. He graduated from Clifton Springs High School and CCBI, where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He also attended Syracuse University. He was predeceased by his loving son, Gary Chase, on September 24, 2008. Survivors: his wife of 66 years, the former Victoria Myers; two daughters, Cheryl (Donald) Brooks and Susan (Daniel) Ewald, all of Baldwinsville; one son, Frederick (Barbara) Chase of East Syracuse; one brother, Harlan Chase of Syracuse; one daughter-in-law, Eileen Chase of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews. Services will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Forani & Cline Funeral Home, 206 Kinne Street, East Syracuse, and 9 a.m. in St. Matthew's Church. Burial wil be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
