Patterson, Sr. and Lillian Claire Turner, in Buffalo, N.Y. and resided in Cocoa Beach. He became a member of the Masters Mates & Pilots Union. He spent most of his life at sea in the Merchant Marines and ended up as Captain. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Fred was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Petersen. He is survived by wife, Theresa Patterson; two daughters, Patrice Moniz and Sharron Hansen; and 3 step children, Ronald and James Gagne and Elaine Lack; and 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
