Born in Greenville, SC on February 1, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Easter and Harry Gosnell. She was raised in the Camperdown community and attended Greenville Sr. High School. She married Hack, the love of her life, just prior to his tour of duty in the Army Air Corps in WWII. She worked at Camperdown Mill prior to its closing and then went to J. P. Stevens, Dunean Mill in the Cloth Room, where she retired as a head grader.She was an active member of Overbrook Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and choir member, until her body was ravaged by Alzheimer's disease. She was a long-time volunteer at the Greenville Baptist Association Crisis Center. She and Hack loved participating in the Silver Threads at Overbrook and traveling to many of the 50 states and Canada. They were both accomplished ballroom dancers. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Gosnell and Bill Gosnell.She loved her Clemson Tigers and was ever so proud that her son, both grandsons and granddaughter-in-law graduated from Clemson University.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Judy Goodwin, of Simpsonville; two grandsons and their wives, Patrick James (P.J.) and Holly Goodwin of Simpsonville; Travis Lee and Melissa Goodwin of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Audrey Goodwin.A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Overbrook Baptist Church, 1705 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29607 on Tuesday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dale Sutton.
