MARTIN, Emma Christine (nee Charsley) Passed away peacefully in Victoria, BC on Saturday, April 9 2005. A wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and extended community, Chris was predeceased by her husband Harvey in 1995. She is survived by her three children Linda (Lorne), Robert (Franny) and Lorne (Jan); and seven grandchildren Greg, Jana, Russell, Caitlin, Dylan, Caroline and Spencer. Born in Creighton Mines, Ontario in 1923, Chris was raised in Sudbury. After completing Normal School she moved west to teach in Sointula, BC in 1944 where she met Harvey. They lived in a number of BC and Alberta communities where she was active in the Anglican church and made numerous lasting friendships. A lifelong learner with an adventurous spirit and an active sense of humor, she traveled widely and spoke her mind freely. A memorial service to celebrate Christine's special life will be held in Kamloops at 1:30 p.m. on April 25 at the Church of Cleopas, 3041 Westsyde Road followed by a 3:30 reception in the Common Room at Orchard Court, 860 Nicolani Drive. Flowers respectfully declined. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Church of Cleopas on Chris's behalf gratefully accepted. Email reception farewells/ memories to rrmartin@shaw.ca 67866
