Emily Jane Mainwaring Adams, 76, of 355 Pelham Road, wife of William T. Adams, Jr., died Monday, February 1, 2010, at her residence. Born in Milesburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Sargent Mainwaring. Mrs. Adams was a Certified Public Accountant and was a member of McBee Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as pianist. She also served as treasurer for the Henderson County Gem and Mineral Society. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Sally Clarke and husband, Jason, of Greenville; three sons, W.T. Adams, III and wife, Renee, of Florence, Dr. John Adams and wife, Sandra, of Aberdeen, S.D. and Glen Adams and wife, Jacqueline, of Columbia; 11 grandchildren: Taylor, Preston, Julie, Andrea, Moriah, Anna Grace, Mamie and Jannie Adams, James Sightler, Jack and Elizabeth Clarke; and a brother, Charles Mainwaring and wife, Bertha, of Dowling Park, Fla.Memorials may be made to the Henderson County Gem and Mineral Society Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 6391, Hendersonville, NC 28793. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 5, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
