GREENSBORO, NC-- Edna Idumea Jones Reid, born March 24, 1926 to the late Lincoln William and Mattie Estelle Jones in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Graveside service on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, officiated by Preacher Alan Rowe. She was predeceased in death by the late Roy Lee Reid; her brothers and sisters, Clyde Dennis Jones, Delcie Lee Stock, Clarence and Callie Ruth Jones. She was a "neighborhood mom," and retired from Belks at Friendly. She was an honorary Boy Scott member. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.She leaves behind her children, Pat and husband Vernon Puckett, Walter and his late wife Wanda Reid, Carolyn Raab and her late husband Anton Cantrell, Mattie and her husband Robert Robbins; grandchildren, Marcus and Christy Raab, Danielle Raab and her husband Larry Jarnigan, Kristal Reid and her husband Keith Tickle, Joey and Kelly Reid, Jason Robbins, Aaron and Christina Robbins, and Marilee Robbins. She was affectionately called MeMaw by her four great-granddaughters, Micah Lauren Raab, Kylee Alexia Raab, Morganna Katrine Reid, and Patricia Bain Robbins. She enjoyed her crafts and making people smile. She was a very caring and supportive mom, and her creativity was shared by many people.Friends may visit on Sunday, March 11, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, 1900 Vanstory Street, Greensboro, and at other times at the home of Pat and Vernon Puckett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
