QUINCY Dorothy May (Allsopp) "Dot" Kirby, of Squantum, passed away at the Eagle Pond Rehab. & Living Center in Dennis on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Born in Quincy where she was raised and educated, she lived here all her life and worked as a nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital for many years. The beloved wife of James J. Kirby, Jr., Dot is the loving mother of Susan Peterson of Squantum and James J. Kirby III of Walpole, dear grandmother of Kristie McCarthy of Holbrook, Nicole Peterson of CO and Thomas Peterson of Squantum and great-grandmother of Lily and James McCarthy. She is also survived by her sisters Audrey Boudreau of Plymouth and Frances Gerrior of Holbrook and her brother Alfred Allsopp of Bridgewater. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, December 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited. Burial will be in the Mass.
