Dorothy Ludwene Hufft Lindsay, 86, Chattanooga, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009.She was preceded in death by her one true love of 50 years, the Rev. Joe Lindsay, who was the pastor of the East Gadsden Church of God during the 1970s; her precious mother, Bessie B. Johnson; and brother, Col. Edward E. Hufft.Dot is survived by a son, Barry Lindsay (Carolyn); grandchildren, Travis Lindsay, Ginger Moeller, Jeff Brown (Lisa) and Lisa May; and eight great-grandchildren.Ms. Dot's life was richly blessed with an additional family she called her "buddies." Neither words nor riches can ever express our sincere gratitude for the love and care that this wonderful family of buddies provided over the years. This love and selflessness surrounded Ms. Dot until the moment she was called home. The Lindsay family gratefully gives thanks to Dot's earthly angels, Bill and Diane Foxworth, the Rev. Don and Pat Glenn, Sonya Westbrook, Pat Mays, Sherrie Steventon, Wanda Whitener, Debbie Adair. Very special thanks go to Manor House and NHC-Fort Oglethorpe. Your care and compassion is beyond reproach and is truly the best it could be. We love you!Visitation and funeral will be held on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. service time in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tenn. Interment to be Monday at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
