Miss Dorothy Ivy Robinson - SAVANNAH - Miss Dorothy Ivy Robinson, born November 29, 1914 in Charleston, SC, went home to be with her Lord March 16, 2009. Miss Robinson was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Richard C. Robinson, of Liverpool, England and her two brothers, Richard and Charles and their wives. Miss Robinson worked for Derst Baking Company for 40 years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Miss Robinson is survived by two nieces, Retired US Marine Master Sergeant Dorothy L. Starin who lived with and cared for her since 1983, and Mrs. Margaret McMeel of Port St. Lucie, Florida, two great-nieces, Tammy Holcomb of Marietta, GA and Kathy Duffy of Alpharetta, GA, and a nephew, Bobby Robinson, of Charleston, SC, and three great-great-nieces, Summer and Savannah Duffy and Aubrey Holcomb. It was Miss Robinson's wishes that there be no visitation and that it be a graveside funeral for family only at Hillcrest Abbey on Wheaton Street. The service will be given by Dr. Allan Bosson, Pastor, Southside Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 5502 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 31406.
