Obituary of Dorothy-Goodwin McGee


MCGEE Dorothy Goodwin McGee, of Jacksonville, passed away April 8, 2003. Survivors include her husband, James W. McGee; children, Judy Shaw (Robert), Candace Dochstader, Dr. Deborah Green (Mark Andrews), and James W. McGee, III (Judy); sister, Ruth E. Folta; grandchildren, Robert M. Shaw, Jr., Amanda Gregg, Penny Howells, Chandra Simonds, Deborah Gregg, Amanda Gregg, Jocelyn Miller, and Jennifer Dochstader; great-grandchildren, Jessica Burns, Kali and Evan Simonds, Wyeth and Sadi Miller, and Finian Walsh; nieces, Rebecca Folta and Rachel McGill; nephew, Rand Folta. An accomplished artist, she received international recognition in Japan as well as the United States. She had a great love of travel, adventure, family and friends. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the time she spent at her church with her Sunday School class and working in Vacation Bible School. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2003, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lake Shore Baptist Church, 2363 Blanding Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Lake Shore Baptist Church, The American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
