Dorothy R. Clark, 91, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013. She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Rock Hill, a daughter of the late Talmadge and Bethel Robertson Rush. She was predeceased by her husband, L.W. Clark, a native of Chester County who still has many family members here; and her son-in-law, Pete Singleton. Dorothy was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. She and her husband married in 1939. They were the first couple to be wed in the small wooden church by Rev. Pierce Cook, the first full time minister at First United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the Myrtle Beach Garden Club and former member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughter, Dianne C. Singleton of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; a sister, Louise Van Orden of Surfside Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Pete Singleton and wife Amy and Stephanie S. Greeson and fiancée Darrin McCann; and four great-grandchildren, Avery Greeson, Emily Greeson, Mary Hampton Singleton and Elizabeth Singleton.
