CLARKSVILLE SMITH, DORIS IRENE passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009 at her residence. Doris was born May 31, 1934 in New Haven, WV to the late Carvin and Carrie Oliver. She was a retired secretary to the president of Louisville Tin & Stove Company. During her husband's tenure as minister at Palmyra Methodist Church, Doris was a church pianist and member of the choir. Survivors include: husband of 56 years, Billie G. Smith ; sons, John D. Smith , Sellersburg, IN, David A. Smith, Lexington, KY, Bobby G. Smith Freeburg, IL and Bradley W. Smith, Jeffersonville, IN; brother, George Oliver Letart, WV; sister, Fern Stafford , Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 am-2 p.m. Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Chapel with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
