DAYTONA BEACH - Donald R. "Cap" Stephenson, 77, of Hollowbrook Circle, who worked for the Daytona International Speedway, died Sunday at Halifax Medical Center. A native of Struthers, Ohio, Mr. Stephenson, an Army veteran of World War II, moved here in 1987 from Youngstown, Ohio. Mr. Stephenson also formerly worked for General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio, and for the Boardman Ohio Police Department as a captain. He enjoyed racing and old cars. Survivors include his companion of 14 years, LaVerne Buchanan; a son, Earl, Youngstown; a daughter, Cheryl Lowe, Boardman, Ohio; two sisters, Delores Ray, Youngstown, and June Roloff, Boardman; and three grandchildren.
