Obituary of Dorothy-C. Johnson


Dorothy Catherine Surratt Johnson, 82, Tuscumbia, Ala., died Nov. 15, 2008.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Malcolm King is officiating.She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, an award-winning Avon sales representative for more than 35 years, a dealer for Watkins, Stanley and Tupperware and worked part time at McVays and Happy Food Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, of Tuscumbia, and past member of Eastern Star Lodge 164.Survivors include daughters, Sonja Ann Jones, of Tuscumbia, Barbara Erwin (Bill), of Kapolei, Hawaii; grandchildren, Stephen Allen Bradford (Siryn), of Albany, Ga., Christi Erwin Donnan (Christopher), of Orlando, Fla., and Andrew Erwin, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; niece, Martha Norvell; and sister-in-law, Norene Surratt.Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Amon Ray Johnson; brothers, Willie and Vernon Surratt; and sister, Velma Norvell.The family would like to thank Elder Care workers and Southern Care Hospice.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association of North Alabama.Colbert Memorial Chapel of the Shoals is directing.
