TUSCALOOSA Clarence W. Stokes, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, died Jan. 31, 2008, at VA Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Corder officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wiltie Hendrix, Maybelle Hobson, Estelle Johnson, and Myrtle Parker; and his brothers, Irby, Earnest, Frank, Bernard, Perry, Clifford, and Ralph.Survivors include his sisters, Frances I. Daniels and twin sister Clarice M. Bobo, both of Tuscaloosa.He was born March 14, 1919, along with his twin sister, in Stokes, Ala. He served 24 years in the U.S. Marine Corp., 20 years at VA Hospital, and 15 years in security at Pizitz before retiring.Pallbearers will be Jeff Farley, Mike Banks, Billy Moon, Billy Joe Moon, Steven Banks, and Robert Green.
