HUDON, Charles-Henri 1930 - 2012Charlie passed away on Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 in Pointe-Claire. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Thelma (nee Cliffe), he will be dearly missed by his children Michael, Mark (Kathy), Richard (Raquel), his grandchildren Jean-Paul, Matthew, Luc, Nicolas, Ben, Spencer, Alexandra(1994), Pierre and Charlotte, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Enormously proud of his roots, Charles-Henri was born into a large and loving family in St. Pacome, QC, where from an early age he showed signs of being the competitive athlete, accomplished businessman and philosopher king we would later come to love and appreciate. During the course of his forty- plus years in the oil business, Charlie became close personal friends with many of his associates, most of whom will remember him for his sound logic, fairness, sense of humour and unique golf swing. As a life-long lover of all things athletic, Charlie particularly enjoyed golf - eventually serving as President at Ile Perrot Golf and Country Club where he regularly shot other people's ages. For many years, the Hudon children were led to believe that the logo on the Montreal Canadiens jersey stood for "Charlie Hudon", in recognition of his career accomplishments achieved while playing with teams ranging from the St. Pacome Rockets, through the industrial leagues to the West Island Old Timers. Guided by common sense and a deep compassion uniquely his own, Chuck was a truly fantastic father whose wisdom and caring charm will live on in generations to come. Our dad was never happier than when he and Thelma were at the dinner table surrounded by his "boys" and their friends and family enthralled in debate, storytelling and laughter. Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, 514-685-3344 on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
