Charles Dexter Colburn, 68, died Aug. 19, 2009, at Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and lived in Vero Beach for 17 years before moving to Fort Pierce in 2007. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Colburn of Connecticut, Brandi Parlor of Sebastian, Aimee Cablish of Fort Pierce and Carlaine Colburn of Vero Beach; sons, Charlie Colburn of North Carolina, Jeff Colburn of England, and Michael Colburn and Billy Colburn, both of Beacon, Falls, Conn.; sisters, Elmora Colburn of Connecticut and Myrtle Allen of Vero Beach; and 14 grandchildren. SERVICES: A service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 22 at Veterans Memorial Island in Vero Beach with the Rev. Bob Whitley officiating.
