Cecile A. Meunier 1916 - 2011 SPRINGFIELD - Cecile Adele Meunier, 95, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. One of 9 children born in North Adams, MA to the late Roch and Emma (Bedard) Meunier, she proudly graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College, Chicopee, MA in 1961 and then she received her Master's degree in French from Assumption College in 1965. Cecile worked as an office manager for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Springfield, MA. She continued her working career as a Spanish Language Teacher for the Springfield Public School System at the High School of Commerce retiring in 1981. Cecile had been a Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Springfield. She is survived by her sister Claire M. Guenette of Fitchburg, MA and many nieces and nephews. A period of visitation for Cecile will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Forastiere Funeral Home , 45 Locust St., Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Rd., Springfield at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery Springfield. Donations in Cecile's memory may be made to Holy Cross Church in lieu of Flowers.
