DAVIS, CATHERINE BROWN, 81Catherine Brown Davis, 81, passed away on February 18, 2008. She is survived by her four children, Anita P. Davis, Harlan W. Davis, Jr., (Kami Kovacs), Mary Catherine Blanks (Ronnie), and Chancey E. Davis (Kathryn), eight grandchildren, Jennifer Davis, Hillary Davis, Benjamin Hager, Daniel Blanks, Catherine Hager, Andrew Blanks, Madelyn Davis and Jack Davis, sisters-in-law, R. Jaunita Brown, Betty Lewis and Joan Krug (Norman), and many dear nieces and nephews. She ventured to Nome, AK in 1948 to work for the National Weather Service where she met Harlan W. Davis (deceased) of Litchfield, IL. They were married 56 years before his passing in 2007. They spent most of their life together in Miami, FL where she worked in the bookstore at Florida International University. They retired to Vero Beach, FL in 1988. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and current member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Vero Beach, FL. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women, Church Women United and Vero Beach Democratic Women's Society. A memorial service will be held on February 22 at 11 A.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church, Vero Beach, FL and a graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 3 P.M., Dunnellon Memorial Cemetery, Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Florida 32960.
