Carol A. (Griggs) Thomas, 76, of Southington, died July 10, 2008, at the Summit of Plantsville. She was the wife of the late Stan Thomas. She was born May 12, 1932, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Leroy and Carolyn (Andrews) Griggs. Prior to her retirement, she was a dance teacher and owner of Carol's Spot Lighter's. She was a resident of Deerfield Beach, Fla. for more than 20 years before returning to Connecticut four years ago. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Deerfield Beach, Fla. She is survived by her children, Gregory K. Pierce and his wife, RoseMarie, of Coventry, Thomas E. Spotts Jr., of Plainville, and Faith Spotts Tonnotti and her husband, Joseph, of Southington; eight grandchildren, Kenneth, Travis, Tyler, LeAnn, Matthew, Christopher, Ava and Joey; a brother, Ronald Griggs and a sister, Judith Nimro, both of Berlin. She was predeceased by a brother, Roy Griggs; and a sister, Elizabeth Spring. A memorial service was held July 15 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington. Burial was at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
