COLIN ALFRED ANGUS MacPHEE October 28, 1926 - November 23, 2013 Peacefully, after a long illness. Beloved husband and best friend of Beverley Byrne MacPhee; brother of Jean Mawdsley; father (with Doreen Birley, nee Jarvis) of Andrew (Karen Colin), Deborah Tennant (David Tennant) and Martin (Lisa MacPhee); grandfather of James and Catherine Tennant, Richard, Adam, Sarah and Sean MacPhee and step-grandfather to Dustin Hawker. Predeceased by his step-son Leith Hawker. Colin was well known for his knowledge of physics and electrical engineering and invented many life-saving devices in common use worldwide. His personal life was noted for his comedic and vocal musical talents in local Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, his fine woodworking skills, his practical approach to problem solving and his kind and generous spirit. During his lifetime Colin developed a wide circle of friends. Their love and support helped him greatly during his final voyage. He will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Frederick Parker, as well as the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Scarborough General Hospital for their kind care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Guildwood, 85 Livingston Road, Scarborough M1E 1K7. In Colin's memory, donations may be made to the Scarborough General Hospital Foundation or the Church of the Holy Trinity, Guildwood.
