Bettye Sue Martin Oliver - GLENNVILLE - Bettye Sue Martin Oliver died Friday, March 18th, 2011 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the beloved wife of Hugh Oliver for over sixty years. Before her retirement, Mrs. Oliver worked for many years as the bookkeeper in her family business. She was a devoted Christian who faithfully served the Lord in her church, First Baptist, in Glennville. Her quiet, kind and compassionate disposition will be missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, two children, Susan O. Dowdy (Jerry) of Wrens, GA., Richard Oliver (Martha) of Stonewall, La. a sister, Ann Mosley (Russell) of Vidalia, two brothers, John Martin (Kate) of Statesboro, Warren Martin (Bette) of Vidalia, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her memorial service will be at First Baptist Church, Glennville, at 3 p.m on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. A private family burial will precede the service at the Glennville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at her residence, 111 Howard St., Glennville, between six and nine on Monday evening March 21, 2011.
