Bertram Hylton Davis AUSTELL - Bertram Hylton Davis, 88, died Thursday, July 12, 2007. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at the Presbyterian University Center, (548 W. Park Avenue) in Tallahassee. Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia (770-948-2552) is handling arrangements.He retired from Florida State University as a professor of English. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Davis is survived by his sons, Ralph Davis of Fredericksburg, Va., and Richard Davis of Westminster, Md.; a daughter, Kathryn Kohler of Smyrna, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Davis.
