Bernice Johnson Davis Bernice Johnson Davis, 66, a retired accountant who had worked for the Leon County School Board for 33 years, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Friday at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, with burial at Southside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. EDT until the service at the church.Madry Memorial Funeral Chapel in Quincy (850-875-2665) is handling arrangements. She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and formerly attended Bethel AME Church. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Levern D. Davis of Tallahassee; two sons, Linwood Davis Jr. of Jacksonville and Alvin Bernell Davis of Tallahassee; one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Tallahassee; two grandchildren, Santana Davis of Tallahassee and Brandon Davis of Jacksonville; two sisters-in-law, Sophie Davis of Tallahassee and Nadeline Moore (and Robert) of Mount Dora; six special nephews, Bernell J. Moore, Roy A. Moore (and Jacuelyn), Ulysses Thompson and Larry Williams, all of Tallahassee, Willie Taylor of Miami and Bassett Taylor of Phenix City, Ala.; special godchild, Berniebe Moore of Tallahassee; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
