BARBARA JANE BECK CHESTERTON, IN Barbara Jane Beck, age 84, of Chesterton passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 in her home. Barbara was born on July 25, 1928 in Villa Grove, IL to Paul and Irene (Barmore) Squibb. On September 7, 1946, Barbara married Edward Beck, who preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by her children: Paul (Sue A.) Beck of Schererville, IN, Rebecca K. (Henry Newman) Beck of Highland Park, IL, Bonnie Irene (Joe) Gifford of Wadsworth, OH, and Dan A. (Michele) Beck of Chesterton, IN; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her two sisters: Margaret Ann Erwin and Bonnie Erlene Robinson. Barbara was a member of St. John's United Church of Chesterton and the Chesterton Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed collecting antiques, knitting, and playing cards. Her favorite times were those spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton, IN (219) 926-1309. Burial will follow at the Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 25, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
