Obituary of Barbara Bowles


LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Barbara S. Bowles, age 55, of Berrian Branch Road, died Thursday July 26, 2012, in the Georgia Health Science Medical Center in Augusta. Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 28, 2012, in the Parkers United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bartow, with Rev. Hardy Owens officiating. A native of Louisville, Mrs. Bowles was the daughter of the late Jimmy B. Smith and Mrs. Ruth Williams Smith. She worked as a waitress and owned the Country Hearth Restaurant in Louisville and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her father and is survived by husband, Luther Gee Bowles, of Louisville, mother, Ruth Williams Smith of Louisville, daughters & sons-in-law, Susan & Brian Walden of Bartow, Jennifer & Jason Roberts of Louisville, and Jill Bowles of Lyerly, GA, brother, Gary & Diane Smith of Louisville, sister Kay Deriso of Hephzibah, 11 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends in the Parkers United Methodist Church immediately following the service on Saturday. Taylor Funeral Home 401 W. 8th Street, Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
