BROOKS, Barbara Ann (Robinson) - Born in New Liskeard 1932; Graduate of Havergal College 1950 and University College U of T 1954; Hons BA Mod. History & Mod. Languages. It is with great sadness that our family announces the loss of Barbara, who died peacefully at home in Guelph as a result of ALS. Cherished mother of daughters Laura, Kathleen (Close) and Alison; beloved ‘Grammy' to Fraser, Graeme, Dylan and Declan; much loved sister of Nonie Taylor and Mary Kilgour, and adored partner of her beloved Fred Fletcher. Loving mother-in-law to Alex Woda, Ron Close and Charles Walker. Pre-deceased by parents Lillian Vera and Robert Sherriff Robinson of New Liskeard, and dear brothers Jack and Howard. Barbara will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her eleven nieces and nephews and their children, and by her very many friends in Ontario and across Canada. Family, friends and acquaintances are warmly invited to gather for a reception to be held 29 January, 2-4pm, at the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, 358 Gordon St. Guelph, to honour and remember Barbara who cared deeply for others and contributed greatly to her community - especially to the Arts in Guelph, through her work with the Guelph Arts Council over the years. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Barbara's name to the Guelph Community Foundation Musagetes Fund, 147 Wyndham St. N., Suite 405 PO Box 1311, Guelph, Ontario N1H 6N6 (Please write ‘Musagetes Fund' in the memo line of the cheque).and to the Dancetheatre David Earle, 42 Quebec Street Guelph, Ontario N1H 2T4. We wish to express our sincere appreciation of the dedicated care we received from the CCAC team, Bayshore Palliative Team, Guelph Wellington Hospice, Emmy Beauchamp and our angel Megan Klaver.
