AUGUSTA -- Antoinette "Toni" (Veilleux) Poulin Tardiff, 96, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta campus, after a brief illness.She was born in Augusta on Aug. 21, 1909, the daughter of Napoleon Veilleux and Annie (Bouffard) Veilleux. She was married to the late Albert Poulin and later for 32 years to the late Richard Tardiff, who died Jan. 10, 1980.Toni was an artist for many years and did volunteer instruction at the Augusta Mental Health Institute and at Augusta area elementary schools.She had exhibited at numerous juried, invitational and one-man shows, including Farnsworth Museum, Maine State Art Festival and Hadassah Art Exhibit in Bangor. Her paintings are enjoyed in homes across the United States, Canada and several other foreign countries.She was a charter member of the Kennebec Valley Art Association and the Harlow Gallery as well as the Bangor Art Gallery. She was predeceased by a stepson, Victor Tardiff; a stepdaughter, Estelle Nevers; a brother, Roland Veilleux and a sister, Irene Auger.She is survived by her daughter, Lucille Jordan and her husband, Richard, of China Village; stepdaughter, Yvette Daniels and stepson Gerard Tardiff both of Augusta; a niece, Nancy Willis of Tennessee; a nephew, Paul Veilleux of Florida; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta.
