LOWELL -- Annette D. (LaBrie) Monette, 93, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at a local nursing home. She was the wife of Maurice G. Monette, with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on Nov. 24.She was born in Lowell on July 13, 1912, daughter of the late Cyrille and Noemi (Dessureault) LaBrie. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1930.In 1930, Mrs. Monette started her career working in the winding and warping rooms of the Silk Mills of Lowell. For about 10 years, she worked in the dress departments of Pollard's and Sallinger's amd later worked in the cafeteria at St. Louis de France School. Before retiring in 1972, she worked at Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury.She was the former president, vice president and secretary of St. Louis de France Parish. She was also the former assistant secretary and former publicist of the St. Louis Guild.She was a member of the Lowell Senior Citizens and Dracut Senior Citizens, where she was a member of their candlepin bowling league and the Dracut Cribbage League.She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, bowling, dressmaking, baking, knitting, crocheting, playing cribbage and crossword puzzles.Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Maurice L. Monette of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Jeanne T. Yorke of Los Lunas, N.M., and Michele McClellan and her fiancé Mark Anderson, both of Lowell; a sister, Noemi LaBrie of Lowell; three sisters-in-law, Sister Loretta Monette SASV, Sister Beatrice Monette SASV and Sister Lucille Monette SASV; four grandchildren, Bill R. McClellan of Tewksbury, Kevin M. McClellan of Lowell, Hugh McGowan and his wife, Julie, of Texas, and Sean McGowan of California; and many nieces and nephews.She was also the sister of the late Gabrielle Cartwright, Florence LaBrie, Amaryllis LaBrie, the Rev. Lionel LaBrie OMI and the Rev. Real LaBrie OMI; sister-in-law of the late Rev. Leo Monette OMI, Hector Monette, Cecile Fissenger and Sister Rita Monette SASV.
